Overwatch 2 is going through an identity crisis right now, even if this weird transition was one that me and so many others expected. It will be a better game in the end because of this awkward growth, but right now my investment in Overwatch has arguably lessened the investment I have in its successor because there is less in it for me from the off. Don’t get me wrong, this is definitely a me problem , but aside from pushing through the battle pass I’m now stuck waiting to see what else awaits me on the horizon.

In Overwatch 2, both loot boxes and Credits are gone. Instead players will need to buy a new currency, Overwatch Coins, with real money. Coins can be used to buy the seasonal battle pass which includes about 80 items, or spend them directly on the items they want. A legendary skin costs 1900 Coins, or roughly $19. You can earn a total of 60 Coins every week by completing all of the weekly challenges. There are no Coin rewards on the battle pass, nor any other method for earning co

It could be argued that Overwatch 2 Abilities|https://overwatch2fans.com/ doesn’t need to waste time focusing on this stuff, pushing an "agenda" that simply takes away focus from actually playing the game. But it should, its queer characters deserve more than just a passing mention to keep us satisfied. Explore these stories, show that Overwatch is worthy of the awards and nominations it has received for doing the bare minimum for representation. Two cisgender white homosexuals feels like a sanitised definition of diversity. Where are the POC, transgender characters, and those who refuse to fit into neat little boxes? The universe is only growing with the coming sequel, and its grasp on representation should do so along with

Corey dominated in the latter part of the 2019 Overwatch League season with insane Hanzo play and high potential on a number of hitscan heroes. He earned Role Star honors for his efforts and was a big component of Team USA's Overwatch World Cup victory. He essentially carried the Washington Justice during the last stage or so of the 2019 season and while the Justice are better overall than last season, he is the most important player on their team. Expect him to pop-off this weekend as Washington tries to make a statement ea

My Overwatch account is level 480, which means I earned nearly 500 loot boxes by playing the game. Factoring in the event boxes and arcade rewards and I likely opened close to 600 throughout my Overwatch career completely for free. That means I collected some combination of 2,400 cosmetic items and Credit bundles. There’s a lot of skins I’m still missing, but I’ve unlocked a significant amount of the available items in Overwa

So, let’s crunch the numbers. In a 1v1, it doesn’t matter who you pick (although you should probably play DPS or an off-tank, realistically speaking). 2v2 means you’re missing one role, which means you need to outsmart your opponent. 3v3 is a 1-1-1 formation. 4v4 has the opposite strategic makeup to 2v2, in that you can field one of each role and tactically decide which one to choose for your fourth player. 5v5 is shit. 6v6 is how it is now. 7v7 gives you one extra space on top of having one hero from each role and sub-role, and 8v8 does the same but with two extras. 9v9 is 3v3, which actually sounds great provided it would hypothetically be implemented alongside larger m

The benefit of a battle pass, compared to a loot box, is you get to see what you’re buying. You know exactly what you get for your $10 before you buy the premium tier - though, you still don’t get to choose what you’re buying. If there’s a specific skin, victory pose, or voiceline you’re after, your only option is to buy Coins with real mo

Alarm is a highly touted flex-support player coming into the league this season and should make an impact for the Philadelphia Fusion immediately. He has the opportunity to be one of the bright, young stars of the league with skill capable of matching the best flex-supports in the league like Sung-hyeon "JJoNak" Bang and Jooseok "Twilight" Lee. The Fusion built a really strong roster this season and Alarm was a big piece of that. Expect him to show what he is made of early and of

Overwatch 2 isn’t the only game with expensive cosmetics (have you heard of Pokemon Unite? ) but it might be the only one that’s ever taken previously earnable skins and charged $20 for them. Maybe if you compare Overwatch 2 to similar f2p games like Apex Legends and Fortnite you’ll see that it’s prices are right in line, but no one is comparing Overwatch 2 to Apex Legends, they’re comparing it to Overwatch. The justification for a sequel already felt weak, now it just seems like Overwatch 2 only exists so Blizzard can charge more for skins. It’s a dark day when I find myself nostalgic for loot boxes, but that is the free-to-play reality of Overwatc

Main tanks can’t go anywhere, which is just a simple fact. To combat a main tank, you need damage, so if the other team runs two DPS and you run an off-tank, you’re going to feed ultimates like they’ve been brought up with a silver spoon. There’s just no way you’re running one support with two tanks and two DPS either, mostly for the same reason - it will affect the damage/healing balance per team way too much. As a result, the most basic logic available to us suggests each team will be made up of a main tank, two DPS, and two healers - no room for off-tanks. And, as with all metas, team formations are often mirrored. Gr600
